Let me tell you...visiting Bogota Colombia was one of the best moves I've ever made. I've traveled all over the world, but from the moment I looked out the window of the plane on approach, I knew I was in an amazing place. The ring of mountains and lights were breathtaking.
On the trip in from the airport, my mouth hung open and ooos and ahhhhs and wows were pretty much the conversation...and this was at night! In the day I was even more awestruck at the city. I didn't expect the cosmopolitan atmosphere that I found...and the Juan Valdez coffee shops - well, Starbucks move over :o)
Shopping is unbelievable. The leather goods are everywhere and are so reasonably prices I had to buy another suitcase. And, they have a section of the city that is like being on Rodeo Drive! Trendy, hip little restaurants, shoppes, boutiques, from local markets to European designer studios. The food is fantastice and service is excellent everywhere I went. Talk about paradise!
And....I noted that a new Hilton Hotel is going up so that, as a traveler, tells me something about the prospects as a tourist. Return? Oh yeah! In fact, I think I just may stay on the next trip!
