The selection of a Brazilian/Canadian company to manage the Doña Juana landfill turned into a fight on Tuesday.
At the moment the contract was awarded, a lawyer from a competing firm shouted that the process was an "injustice," and that judges would have the last word on who managed the landfill.

- Colombia has 8 million internet users

The Colombian Ministry of Information and Communications Technology said that the country has 8 million internet users on 3.3 connections as of March 2010.
The ministry's "Quarterly Connectivity Report," released this week, said that suscriptions to internet services went up four percent since the end of last year, increasing by about 130,000.

- 13 injured in Pasto DAS attack

Three police detectives were among the 13 people injured in a bomb attack in the Colombian city of Pasto on Wednesday afternoon.
All those injured in the bombing are in local hospitals, with none in critical condition.

- China loans Colombia $1 million for military

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and Defense Minister Rodrigo Rivera met with Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie in Bogotá to arrange military cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese government will loan Colombia about US$1 million for military equipment purchases.
