Sting is coming to Colombia thanks to the Buchanan´s Forever Learning for Life Tour, a series of concerts that raises funds for educational initiatives in poor communities in Latin America.
The British pop star will perform at the Corferias conference centre this Thursday, in front of an unusually small crowd of only 2,400.
Tickets are still on sale at tuboleta.com with Zone 3 seats going for 718,000 pesos (about US$359) and Zone 1 seats selling for 1,130,000 pesos (about US$565).
The prices are high for a concert in Bogotá, but ticket holders are guaranteed to get a good view of the British Knight, the venue is so small that the last row in zone 3 is just 35 meters away from the stage.
Sting is one of several big names coming to Bogotá this month. Other visitors include Boston rockers Aerosmith (May 20th), Mexican cult band Los Jaguares who will perform on May 8th and Spanish pop star Miguel Bose who will also perform on the same day.
Proceeds from the Sting Concert will go to towards skills development courses, micro-credit and small enterprise development projects in the deprived community of Pasacaballos in Cartagena.
